What is an infographic? If you don't know, go look it up. Read about it and then in your own words tell me what an infographic is. What do infographics do? How do they work? What makes a really good infographic?

A info graphic it seems is a fancy word for a graph to represent data often seen in commercials. they're supposed to represent "a thousand words" for each graph or chart i guess by showing all the data in one image. A really good info graphic from a business perspective makes your product look good and the other inadequate. Usually this is only by a very small margin but the graph is set in a way to mislead into thinking its much better than its competitor.

Tell me about your Homecoming weekend! If you didn't participate in the Homecoming festivities, what did you do? Share pics!

My homecoming weekend was okay. I didn't participate in the actual HC dance for two reasons though. One i didn't want to deal with the whole hasel of wearing a suit and dancing and having the awkward dinner with someone I don't even like. I mean why go if your not going with someone you actually have a relationship with?  The other reason was that I just didn't have anyone to ask that i thought would say yes. Over the weekend I finally got paid after 2 months of mowing lawns and went to see "The Maze Runner" with 4 friends on HC night.

Imagine Mr. Bacon has asked you to suggest one way of improving Blue Valley High School to make it a better place for students. Think about the changes that are needed at your school. Pick one change you feel would really make a difference and explain what it is and why you'd make the change.

I think late start every day would make the biggest and best difference in our school. Most teens have so much homework that they stay awake till at least midnight or its just t.v or other activities. Either way teens aren't getting much sleep and theirs nothing the school can do or should do to control students outside of school during their lives. So I think that a later start each day would give students a few extra hours of sleep and so the'yd be more awake during school instead of sleeping through first and second hour.

What are your favorite apps on your phone or tablet? Why?

My favorite apps on my phone are probably vine, calculator, and rise of berk. I love to just find funny videos on vine when i'm board and have a good laugh. I like calculator because it means i almost never have to do math in my head anymore and i always have a calculator. I like rise of berk because it a fun game and I've loved the movies since the first one came out years ago. I also like the contacts app so I don't have to remember phone numbers anymore.

What is email? When do you use email in your own personal life? List reasons and ways that people use email. What do you know about "email etiquette"?

An email is e letter sent over the internet almost instantly to another person or company that has mostly replaced writing letters on actual paper. I personally don't use email much other than a couple time but in personal life people could send emails to organize things. They could organize a party or dinner, maybe keep people in the loop of events for a certain group. I personally don't know the etiquette of emails but i'd think they would be the same as if you were talking to a friend or family or in a business like matter.

Now that you've been in Emerging Technology for several weeks... what do you think? Do you think the web tools (Drive, Evernote, Bubbl, etc.) are helpful to you? Do you think they will be helpful throughout high school or even college? Explain.

I think that Emerging technologies class would be handy for a couple years after passing but then the tech will have evolved. By the time i'm in college ill be using outdated apps or websites the younger kids. Drive will still probably be useful however. If they ever come out for an update for Evernote it should be that it automatically MLA formats your sources. As of now however the tools are very helpful.

Do you enjoy writing? When do you enjoy it? What kind of writing do you enjoy? Why do you think the ability to write is so important no matter what kind of writing it is? Give an example that you enjoyed writing or hated writing. Why?

No I have never enjoyed writing. I d not enjoy it because i do not wasting time writing about pointless topics ill never talk or remember the next day or after. I also don't like the stress of having to spell everything write and worry about phrases. I f i had to choose id say i like to write narrative or comparative essay's. I understand the importance of writing though.  Writing is important because it is a form of communication for one and its used in every day life all the time. Not just writing it but understanding it such as in a contract. One occasion i hated writing was when we had to do a comparative essay and i had writers block for 20 of the 40 min's allowed so I barley finished by the end.

Reflect on this quote. Give an example of a time in your life that this might have been the case.

I think this is mostly true but there are cases were people don't have to prepare. Such as those with photographic memory or the subjects come easy to them. I for one didn't have to prepare for tests that much, just a little practice and i'm good. However there have been times were I didn't prepare and failed such as on a math test recently or at guitar and i hadn't practiced in a long while so I was really bad.

What is the importance of research? Why do you need to know how to research? What have you learned in high school about researching topics and finding quality resources? Have you had a helpful teacher that has taught you to research? Explain.

The importance of research is for learning significant information about a topic or learning new information in general. We need to know how to research for future studying opportunities and for college. We also need to know how to research for later in life such as when theirs a problem we can't solve to find the answers online. What I've learned in high school about researching is that you must always look for credible sources to start. Second that when writing a paper you must always cite your sources. In freshman year Mrs. Bakalar helped me to study more successfully.

These kids now a days! Spending all there time down at the arcade or going off tho "find themselves"! What a load of hoarse dung. They should stop going out and trying to go on a spiritual journey and get real jobs. I'm tired of seeing kids asking for rides to the next town or for their next meal. Get a JOB HIPPIES!

Tell me about the global issue you selected. What do you already know about the issue? What are you looking forward to learning about it? Explain.

I selected the global issue of blood diamonds. I Knew vaguely that Blood diamonds were caused by wars and one side taking prisoners to harvest them by brutal force. This was thrown into the global public eye during 1991 till 2001 in Africa. I knew that the people forced to work were brutalized and killed, and the diamonds they found were taken to be used as funding for the war they'd been captured in. I would like to learn if There is more then just that occurrence of blood diamond brutality. I would also like to know if there are some events that were swept under the rug so to speak by the country's own government.

Yesterday I asked your to "think differently" and push yourself to be uncommon with your PSA project using Google Slides. Why do you think I asked you to do that? What is the point? Why not just use bullets and headers? Explain.

I think the point of out teacher asking us to do this is because she doesn't like generic similar power points an grading them over and over. I think she wanted something different so she restricted us from doing the same thing. I think she asked us not to use bullets and headers because she wanted it to be more like a actuall PSA an less like a power point for school.

Tell me all about your Labor Day weekend. What did you do? Include photos!

Over labor day I woke up at around 10 in the morning, pretty early for me on a weekend and later at around 3-4:45 me and my mom went to buy new cleats for soccer. After we got them I went straight to soccer practice, got them muddy, cleaned them after practice, and headed home. That sums up my entire labor day.
